Title:
NURSERY POT BASE MATERIAL
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JPH10102369
Kind Code:
A
Abstract:

To obtain a base material for nursery pot which does not hamper root growth, secures flourishing growth of branches and leaves above the ground, needs no root wrapping around a transplanting rod, and enables direct planting, therefore considerably improves transplanting work efficiency.

This nursery pot base material constitutes a composite nonwoven fabric which is produced by hydro-interlacing process for pulp fibers and biodegradable spunbonded nonwoven fabric afforded by a biodegradable synthetic resin as raw material. In this base material, fiber low-density region 10-1,000gf in needle penetration strength defined by the maximum strength exhibited between the time period from the point when the tip of a needle 1.0-mm in diameter and 0.5mn in the radius of curvature of the tip comes into contact with the composite nonwoven fabric to the point when the tip penetrates through it after the needle is moved toward the composite nonwoven fabric and fiber high-density region 1,500-6.000gf in needle penetration strength lying adjacently to the fiber low-density region are regularly distributed throughout the composite nonwoven fabric. The area per fiber low-density region is 0.1-3.5mm2, and the total area of the fiber low-density region accounts for 2-20% of the whole surface area of the composite nonwoven fabric.
