Abstract:
PURPOSE: To provide a nut wherein a bolt is not broken even if torque exceeding the specified fastening torque is applied.
CONSTITUTION: Cutouts 3 each of which has the suitable length, width and depth are provided on respective corner parts 2 of a nut 1 along the inscribing circle. When two plates are joined to each other by the nut 1 and a bolt, respective corner parts 2 of the nut 1 are broken at the time when the fastening torque exceeds the specified value after fastening the nut 1 by a spanner, and the spanner is slipped and idled on the circumferential surface of the nut when the torque is further applied, and the torque exceeding the specified fastening torque is not applied to the bolt, and the bolt is prevented from being broken.
