PURPOSE: A nutrient composition for a young child, effective for improving various disease conditions, e.g. nutrient control before and after the operation, or improving poor digestion or absorption, and consisting of 18 amino acids of a specific composition, a carbohydrate, a fat, a vitamin and a mineral.
CONSTITUTION: A nutrient composition containing amino acids having a composition of isoleucine, leucine, lysine, methionine, cysteine, phenylalanine, tyrosine, threonine, tryptophan, valine histidine, alanine, arginine, aspartic acid, glutamic acid, proline and serine (all the acids are of L-forms) and glycine in a proportion as shown in the table. A carbohydrate, a fat, a vitamin, a mineral and if necessary a germicide, an emulsifier, etc. are added thereto to give a nutrient composition for a young child (a premature boby to a child of 10 years old). The composition is usually administered enterally or orally in the form of an aqueous solution.
