Abstract:
To provide a network storage device for transferring data from a host client to one of solid state disks through a nonvolatile semiconductor memory device, and a method for transferring data to the device.SOLUTION: In a system 100, a CPU of a storage device receives a write request from a host client through a remote direct memory access (RDMA) network adapter, determines whether a nonvolatile semiconductor memory device is available to store data, starts the RDMA network adapter to transfer the data from the host client to the nonvolatile semiconductor memory device in the case that the nonvolatile semiconductor memory device is available to store the data, and starts a network adapter to broadcast a query to one or more external storages in the case that the nonvolatile semiconductor memory device is not available to store the data.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
