PURPOSE: To obtain nylon 6 packages capable of improving the quality of woven and knitted fabrics and processing efficiency, by winding up an extruded nylon 6 filamentary yarn under such conditions as to give specific values of elongation and content of γ-type crystals.
CONSTITUTION: Nylon 6 packages obtained by winding up an extruded nylon 6 filamentary yarn under conditions of ≥3,500m/min and 0.08W0.22g/denier winding up tension while traversing the yarn into a pirn 6 by the horizontal taking up method. The yarn is wound by specifying an angle (θ) between the yarn to be bent by a traverse guide 5 and led to the pirn 6 and the vertical line passing through the take-off point of the yarn at the traverse guide 5 at 70° or less to give the aimed nylon 6 packages having 40W60% elongation of the yarn, 7W 30% content of γ-type crystals and ≤20g difference in the stretch tension in the packages.
