To provide a nylon rope unconventionally highly excellent in lightweight feeling while standing comparison with conventional ropes in terms of mechanical strength, and to provide a method for producing the nylon rope.

The nylon rope comprises spun yarns of hollow nylon staple fibers. The method for producing the nylon rope comprises subjecting spun yarns made from raw wool of sheath/core-type conjugate staple fibers with a polyamide as the sheath component and a polyester as the core component to a dyeing step followed by a stranding step, wherein either at the stage of the spun yarns or at the stage after rope formation, the spun yarns are treated with a hot alkali solution to elute the polyester core component of the conjugate fibers.
