Abstract:
To improve transmission characteristics by restraining performance degradation of error correction decoding, in a fading environment where leakage interference waves from adjacent channel, or the like, exist.SOLUTION: A signal extraction section 20 provided in the noise variance estimation part 16-1 of an OFDM receiver 1 extracts a TMCC carrier signal from the IQ signal of every carrier after equalization, a band division section 21 divides the entire band of the IQ signal into multiple partial bands, and divides the TMCC carrier signal for every partial band. A noise variance calculation part 22 calculates noise variance, based on the amplitude of the TMCC carrier signal included in the partial band for every partial band, and an interpolation processing section 23 performs interpolation processing using the noise variance of every partial band, and calculates the noise variance for every carrier. With such an arrangement, the noise variance of every carrier has a value of higher degree of precision than that of the noise variance of every carrier obtained from the average noise variance in the band, and thereby the degree of precision of the likelihood ratio calculated from the noise variance is also increased.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 2
