Title:
OAR PULLING DEVICE IN SLIDING BOAT
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JPS6038292
Kind Code:
A
Abstract:

PURPOSE: To utilize the force of man's legs for directly pulling an oar to aim at increasing the speed of a sliding boat, by securing one end of a twisted steel wire which is secured at the other end to a sliding seat and is stretched between the stretcher of a boat hull and the front of the seat, to the grip section of the oar.

CONSTITUTION: An oarsman sits backward on a sliding seat 3 and grips the grip section of an oar 2. When the oar 2 whose front end section is put into the water is pulled forward by a strong arm force while a stretcher 8 is kicked by the folded legs, the sliding seat 3 slides forward along rails 3. Therefore, a twisted steel wire 5 secured to the sliding seat 5 is pulled in the direction of the arrow, and the oar 2 secured to the twisted steel wire 5 is also pulled forward by the wire 5. With this arrangement, the oar 2 is pulled not only by the arm force but also by the leg force so that the oar may be rapidly stroked. Further, the oar and the sliding seat are returned to their original positions by the spring force of a tension spring, thereby the condition before the oar is stroked, may be smoothly returned.
