To provide an object position recognition system capable of accurately and promptly reading object information from an electronic tag 23 while simplifying the configuration of a reader antenna 51 or the like.
The object position recognition system is equipped with an object placement rack 12 which can be placed on an antenna forming target member 14 and accommodate a plurality of electronically-tagged position recognition target objects 11 in a matrix form, and is configured so that the relative placement of the object placement rack 12 with respect to the antenna forming target member 14 can be changed so as to be able to obtain: a row-reading antenna state in which the reader antenna 51 disposed on the antenna forming target member 14 can read, row by row, object information on a plurality of position recognition target objects 11 arranged substantially along a row direction; and a column-reading antenna state in which the reader antenna 51 can read, column by column, object information on a plurality of position recognition target objects 11 arranged substantially along a column direction.
