Abstract:
To provide an object recognition apparatus, a computer program, and a recording medium capable of improving the reliability of object recognition results while reducing the arithmetic processing load of a conventional system dependent on an imaging device.SOLUTION: An object recognition apparatus recognizes an object by using observation data of a distance measuring sensor which receives a reflected wave of an irradiated electromagnetic wave and image data generated by an imaging device, sets object existence areas where objects may exist based on the observation data of the distance measuring sensor, estimates attributes of the objects which may exist in each object existence area, sets, based on the object attributes, a processing load level to be spent for object recognition processing performed using at least the image data for the object existence area, and performs processing including performing the object recognition processing according to the set processing load level for each object existence area.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 8
