Abstract:
PURPOSE: To reduce the weight and size of an objective lens holder by providing the objective lens holder with a cylindrical part which holds an objective lens and a couple of wing parts which extend radially and symmetrically.
CONSTITUTION: The objective lens holder 21 is provided with the cylindrical part 21a which holds the objective lens 16 and the couple of wing parts 21b which extend radially and symmetrically from the cylindrical part 21a in the tracking direction T of an optical disk 11. Coils 33 for focusing are fixed to the couple of wing parts 21b of the objective lens holder 21 and coils 34 for tracking are fixed on both surfaces as the external surface of the cylindrical part 21a in a direction F crossing the tracking direction T at right angles. Consequently, the weight of a movable part is reducible, the tracking and focusing can be performed with high precision, and high-speed access is enabled.
