PURPOSE: To make it possible to arbitrarily cut the end of wood, when the end of the wood consists of a plurality of planes, not to mention of a single plane.

CONSTITUTION: Wood W is moved horizontally with conveying device 1. The moving direction of the wood W is defined as the x-direction, the horizontal direction normal to the x-direction as the y-direction and the direction normal to both the x- and y-directions as the z-direction. A first traveling frame 8 is installed movably to the x-direction of a trestle 3 holding the conveying device 1 therebetween. A first pivoting frame 28 is pivotably hung down in the xy-plane through a shaft hung down in the z-direction from the first traveling frame 8. A second traveling frame 34 is linearly movably installed onto the first pivoting frame 28 in the xy-plane. Further, a second pivoting frame 44 is pivotably installed onto the second traveling frame 34 in the vertical plane. Furthermore, a saw blade driving unit 58 is installed through a cylinder 54 onto the second pivoting frame 44.
