To continuously perform pleat work by forming a tooth as a part of movable bars for moving grooves of respective roller main bodies in the axial direction, and arranging a guide member of the bars to move a material strip on a prescribed passage at working time.
A toothed roller 10a has a movable bar 120 with teeth 12, and the movable bar 120 moves a groove 13 of a roller body 11 in the axial direction. The tip 12a of the tooth 12 is formed in an inverse V shape. A plunger element 14 and a pipe element 15 being guide means of plural bars 120 are arranged so that a material strip 2a can move on a prescribed passage at pleat working time, and a speed for moving the strip 2a in the axial direction is set to zero by forcedly guiding the bars 120 to thereby continuously perform pleat work.
