PURPOSE: To provide an observer follow-up type stereoscopic display device capable of removing restrictions on the position of an observer who views a stereoscopic image and increasing the degree of freedom in the observing posture of the observer.

CONSTITUTION: A screen 8 for stereoscopic display is constituted of two lenticular lenses 81 and 82 and a transmissive diffusing layer 83, and a video is projected to the screen 8 from a stereoscopic projector 9 consisting of a projector 9R for projecting a right image and a projector 9L for projecting a left image, then the visual point and both eyes positions of the observer 10 are detected by a stereoscopic measuring device 11, and the movement of the observer 10 and the movement of the projector 9 are interlocked with each other.
