Abstract:

To provide an occupant protecting device improved in occupant protecting performance.

The occupant protecting device 1 comprises a vehicular state detecting portion 10 detecting a vehicular state, a collision detecting portion 20 detecting or estimating a collision of a vehicle, and a posture detecting portion detecting a seating posture of an occupant H. The occupant protecting device 1 comprises a posture correcting portion 40, and a controller 50. The controller 50 controls the posture correcting portion 40 to raise the upper half of the body of the occupant H on the basis of a signal from the vehicular state detecting portion 10 and the posture detecting portion 30. The controller 50 controls the posture correcting portion 40 so as to raise the upper half of the body of the occupant H even when a signal indicating the collision of the vehicle is inputted from the collision detecting portion 20.
