This occupant restraining device expands an air bag 21 with gas generated by an inflater 35 at the time of collision of a vehicle, and deploys it in a curtain shape along the inner surface of the side of the cabin. The proximity of the end of the air bag 21 in the folded state is arranged in a space between a pillar 17 and the pillar garnish 44 mounted on a side surface on the cabin side. The air bag 21 is stored in an air bag storing room 47 formed by partitioning the space with a partition 44b formed integrally with the pillar garnish 44, thereby disposing the partition 44b between a member such as a clip 45 or a bracket 46 existing in the pillar garnish 44 and the air bag 21 and certainly preventing the expanding air bag 21 from interfering with the member to be damaged.
