Abstract:
PURPOSE: To provide an OCR (optical character reader) device which can keep a constant recognition rate even when the original reading state is changed by some reason.
CONSTITUTION: When an OCR original 1 is read, a scanner 2 reads the same time by plural times and stores these read data in the buffer memories 8-10. Then the read image data are compared with each other and the image data having more coincident points is applied as the correct OCR data. Thus it is possible to evade the OCR recognizing errors caused in the reading state of the original 1 by a delicate change of the read data occurred at the threshold level boundary of a CCD image sensor 5 or by the dust attached on the surface of the original 1. Then the recognition rate is kept at a constant level or higher for the OCR device.
