To provide an odometer which makes virtual experience of trips or the like realistic, which is happy to use, and capable of enhancing the will for the effort for continuation of exercising.
Several trip courses are stored which are simulated along with map information for each course, predetermined local points and distance from the starting point, the walking distance is calculated from the number of steps and the span of the step, based on the assumption that a walking person walk in a selected course on a map and the positions of walking from the starting point on the map are displayed. Some pieces of visual information, such as pictures and photographes of noted products, sight seeing spots, monuments and the like, are displayed at each passing local point. For example, a picture of boats at the location of Mishima or a picture of Mount Fuji at the location of city of Fuji are shown. The visual information at already passed points is called to be displayed in succession by key operation.
