PURPOSE: To improve stability and long-term preservable property by incorporating an org. acid compd., aldehyde compd. and amine compd. into a compsn. for suppressing and deodorizing both of amine odors and sulfur odors which are representative malodors.

CONSTITUTION: This odor suppressing and deodorizing agent effective for the malodors generated in industrial society, household living, etc., is formed by contg. the org. acid compd., the aldehyde compd. and the amine compd. A citric acid, fumaric acid and tartaric acid are preferably used as the org. acid compd. The aldehyde compd. includes, for example, glyoxal, formaldehyde, glutaraldehyde, etc., and more particularly, the glyoxal is used. An ethanol amine and isopropanolamine are preferably used as the amine compd. Further, a metal sealing agent is added to the compsn. As a result, the metal ions slightly existing in the odor suppressing and deodorizing agent compsn. are sealed, coloration is prevented and the degradation in the odor suppressing effect is prevented.
