In a globe valve 1 in which a valve stem 12 is mounted vertically movably in a shaft mounting section 8 of a valve box, a packing 19 is interposed between the shaft mounting section 8 of the valve box and the valve stem 12, a packing gland 21 is arranged above the packing 19 to press the packing 19, a yoke sleeve 26 is provided above the packing gland 21, is fitted in a yoke section 25 of the valve box and screwed to the valve stem 12, and a valve seat 4 in the valve box 2 is opened/closed by a valve element 11 provided at the bottom end of the valve element 12 by turning a handle 27 fitted in the yoke sleeve 26 to move the valve stem 12 vertically, between the packing gland 21 around the valve stem 12 and the yoke sleeve 26, a protective bellows 29, which is telescopic, and whose bottom end and top end abut the top surface of the packing gland 21 and the under surface of the yoke sleeve 26, respectively, is arranged in a contracted state.
