Abstract:
An offshore terminal includes a mooring turntable (21), permanently mounted for rotational movement on the upper end of the riser element of the terminal. A pair of pillow blocks (33, 34), having curved surfaces (35), are mounted on the turntable and are adapted for releasably securing the outer end of a rigid yoke mooring structure thereto (as in Figure 1) to provide a rigid mooring configuration (e.g. yoke and hard piping) for a vessel. With the yoke removed (Figure 2), a flexible mooring line (e.g. a hawser) can be secured at one end through cage (40) to pad eyes (43) on turntable (21) so that the terminal is operated in a soft mooring configuration (e.g. hawser and flexible hosing).
