PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an oil agent for water-soluble metal processing excellent in cutting and grinding properties, good also in penetrating and antifoaming properties, and contributable to improvement of productivity.
SOLUTION: The oil agent for water-soluble metal processing contains at lest one ester type nonionic surfactant represented by the following structural formula (1): R1COO(EO)m(PO)nH (1) (R1 is a 7-26C branched alkyl group; EO is a -CH2CH2-O- group; PO is a -CH2C(CH3)H-O- group; m is an integer of 2-50; and n is an integer of 0-10).
