Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain oil composition for a hydrocarbon gas compressor comprising a specific polyalkylene glycol derivative as a base oil, having a low solubility in a light hydrocarbon and water, capable of preventing a seizing and wearing by reducing the lowering of the viscosity and keeping the viscosity suitable.
SOLUTION: This oil composition for a compressing machine of a hydrocarbon gas is obtained by using a polyalkylene glycol having a chemical structure of formula I [R1 and R2 are each H or a 1-6C alkyl; EO is an oxyethylene group; OR is a 3-6C oxyalkylene group; (a) and (b) are each an integer and satisfy the formula 5≤(a+b)≤1000], having 5-100mm2/s kinetic viscosity at 100°C and satisfying the relation of formula II {X is the sum of the carbon numbers of the R1 and the R2 and 0-6; Y is a mole fraction of EO in the molecule and represented by [a/a+b)]×100} as a base oil.
