Title:
OIL ELEMENT FOR REMOVAL OF COPPER IONS FROM LUBRICANT
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JPS59147098
Kind Code:
A
Abstract:

PURPOSE: An oil element for removing copper ions in lubricant such as car engine oil, which is prepared by supporting a chelating reagent which reacts with copper ions on filtration material composed of cellulose.

CONSTITUTION: The objective oil element is obtained by (A) impregnating cellulose or nonwoven fabrics with an aqueous solution of a chelate reagent reacting with copper ions such as dithizone, cupral or cupferon and drying, or (B) sandwiching the component A between two untreated cellulose or nonwoven fabric sheets or (C) spraying a powder of the chelate reagent uniformly on a cellulose or nonwoven sheet and piling another cellulose or nonwoven fabric sheet on the resultant sheet so that the reagent is sandwiched in between the sheets. The resultant oil element can effect precipitation and filtration simultaneously.
