PURPOSE: To prevent the generation of seizure and cracks at a fitting part by providing ceramic coating to the outer circumferential surface of the taper neck- part of a roll and the inner circumferential surface of a sleeve, in a oil-film bearing constituted of a roll journal-part and a bearing box.
CONSTITUTION: A taper sleeve 3 is fitted to the outer circumferential surface 2a of a taper neck-part 2 of roll 1, and is tightly fastened and fixed to the neck- part 2 by a sleeve holder 9 and a lock nut 10, and a shell 5 surrounding the outer circumference of sleeve 3 is internally attached to a bearing 4. Next, lubrication-oil supplying holes and oil feeding ports are formed at the box 4 and the shell 5 respectively, to form an oil-film bearing between the sleeve 3 and the shell 5. At that time, ceramic coating is provided to the outer circumferential surface 2a of neck part 2 and the inner circumferential surface 3a of sleeve 3. In this way, fretting phenomena at the fitting parts of the outer circumferential surface of taper neck-part and the inner circumferential surface of taper sleeve are eliminated, thereby preventing the generation of seizure and cracks at the fitting part.
