PURPOSE: To keep a desired oil level of an oil pan by installing one end part of a constant temperature U shaped band piece on one of a pair of post members of a base plate, suppressing the other end against a cover plate and installing the cover plate free to slide between the post members.
CONSTITUTION: A cover plate 120 closes an opening 126 by vertically moving along a post member 104 and fitting on the opening 126 of a base 102. It is possible to provide a sliding point contact between a constant temperature element 108 and the cover plate 120 by having a cylindrical part to cooperate with a curved part 108.4 of the constant temperature element 108. The constant temperature element 108 gives a specified preload to the cover plate 120 covering a cavity for oil drain, an oil level of a reservoir increases as oil temperature rises, and oil temperature rises, and pressure against the cover plate 120 is increased. Consequently, it is possible to maintain a desired oil level of an oil reservoir by discharging oil at required speed by regulating opening degree of the opening 126.
