Abstract:
PURPOSE: To make it practicable to prevent, with a construction being simple and inexpensive, oil from suddenly drawing out of an oil pressure chamber on the drive side during a change gear ratio near full low at the time of ratio down of a continuously variable transmission, deterioration of belt clamp force, belt slippage and damage to belts and pulleys.
CONSTITUTION: Regarding an oil passage construction, which varies the change gear ratio continuously by increasing and decreasing radius of gyration of a belt 16, wound around a drive side pulley 12 and a driven side pulley, by oil, an oil passage 62 for the drive side shaft 8 is provide on the drive side shaft 8. A drive side pulley oil port 72 for communicating the drive side shaft oil passage 62 with a drive side oil pressure chamber is provided on a drive side movable pulley part piece 30 and an area abatement mechanism is provided for abating the opening area of the drive side pulley oil port 72 when the drive side movable pulley part piece 30 departs from a drive side fixed pulley fringe 28 and moves near to the position where the groove width becomes maximum.
