Abstract:
PURPOSE: To provide an automatic transmission for a vehicle which can make an engine brake effective in a low speed range at the time of manual speed change without change over of a manual valve.
CONSTITUTION: Drive range pressure can be always supplied to a shift valve 4 which controls the supply of oil pressure to servo mechanisms B-1, B-3 for an engine brake, and a cutoff valve 7 is provided on the way of a drive range pressure supply oil passage so that supply of the drive range pressure may be effected only at the time of manual speed change mode. D-range pressure is supplied to the servo mechanisms B-1, B-3 via a 2-3 shift valve 4, a 1-2 shift valve 3 by operation of the cutoff valve 7 at the time of the manual speed change.
