Abstract:
PURPOSE: To prevent the exposure of an oil pump toward the outside by attaching an oil pan so as to cover the lower side of a cylinder block and a cylinder head which are horizontally provided in series, and providing the oil pump driven by a cam shaft below the cylinder head in the oil pan.
CONSTITUTION: An engine rotatably supports a crankshaft 22 in a cylinder block 18 as it is vertically pointed, and a cylinder head 46 is provided on one side in a horizontal direction to perpendicularly cross the crankshaft center line A of the cylinder block 18, and a cam shaft 66 rotated by the crankshaft 22 is rotatably supported on the cylinder head 46. Thus the cylinder block 18 and the cylinder head 46 are horizontally provided in series. An oil pan 88 is attached so as to cover the lower side of the cylinder block 18 and cylinder head 46 which are horizontally provided in series, and an oil pump 96 driven by the cam shaft 66 is attached below the cylinder head 46 in the oil pan 88.
