Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce friction resistance in an oil ring without impairing an oil control function.SOLUTION: An oil ring 13 is installed in an oil ring groove 8 that is provided concavely in an outer peripheral surface of a piston 4, and comprises an upper side rail 16 and a lower side rail 17 that are each formed in a plate-like annular shape, and an expander 18 disposed between the upper side rail 16 and the lower side rail 17. An outer peripheral surface 17C of the lower side rail 17 includes a lower tapered surface 17Ca that is inclined axially downward and radially inward with a first inclination angle θ1 with respect to the axial direction. The lower side rail 17, when the piston 4 is lowered, is inclined radially outward and axially upward with a predetermined oscillation angle θ4 with respect to a plane orthogonal to the axial direction. The first inclination angle θ1 is larger than the oscillation angle θ4.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 3
