PURPOSE: To achieve a constant hermetic seal effect at all times, by providing a lip on the inner circumferential face of foot at the inside of an oil seal and providing a spring for pushing a tapered tubular body in the axial direction.
CONSTITUTION: An oil seal 12 has a reverse U-shaped cross-section and a lip 14 is formed at an annular foot 13 at the inside of the oil seal 12. A tapered tubular member 17 is arranged on the backface of the inside foot 13 and a spring 19 is arranged with its spring face 18 being positioned at the endface of said tubular member 17. Consequently, even if the lip 14 is abraded, the tubular member 17 is advanced farther into the oil seal 12 by means of the spring 19 so as to reduce the inner diameter of the lip 14 thus maintaining the contact pressure between the lip 14 and the shaft 8 approximately constant.
