To provide an oil separator that reduces possibility that the separated refrigerator oil scatters again by allowing the separated refrigerator oil to quickly reach the lower part of the oil separator and improves separation efficiency of the refrigerator oil, and to provide a refrigerating cycle apparatus including the oil separator.
The oil separator 1 separates refrigerator oil from mixed fluid obtained by mixing a refrigerant and the refrigerator oil. The refrigerating cycle apparatus including the oil separator is provided with a collision surface for allowing the mixed fluid to collide with the surface. The collision surface is formed along a direction including a direction component of a vertical direction, and the mixed fluid is allowed to flow along a direction inclined from the collision surface.
