In the oil separator, by a turning flow of refrigerant gas introduced from a gas introduction pipe 15 to inside of an upper half part 12 of a body housing 11, an oil component included in the refrigerant gas is centrifugally separated, and the separated oil is collected on the inner peripheral side of the upper half part 12. The oil separator includes: a first insulator 18b obtaining isolation between the gas introduction pipe 15 and the body housing 11; a charging part 18 provided within the gas introduction pipe 15 and having a discharge electrode positively charging the oil component included in the refrigerant gas made to flow inside the gas introduction pipe 15; a voltage application part 20 applying voltage to the discharge electrode; and a dust collecting part 19 provided within the body housing 11 and having a dust collecting electrode for collecting the oil component included in the refrigerant gas made to pass through the charging part 18 and introduced to inside of the upper half part 12 on the inner peripheral side of the upper half part 12.
