Abstract:

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a ruthenium-containing olefin metathesis catalyst capable of exhibiting excellent olefin metathesis activity in a small amount of the catalyst.
SOLUTION: This olefin metathesis catalyst comprises a ruthenium catalyst (A) having olefin metathesis activity and a salt (B) formed from a cation (a) selected from the group consisting of scandium, yttrium and lanthanoids and an anion (b) selected from the group consisting of nitrate ion, sulfate ion, organic sulfonate ions, organic fluorosulfonate ions and perchlorate ion.
