Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To acquire position information of a three-dimensional space with high accuracy and high resolution.
SOLUTION: Support members 22 respectively supporting three cameras 21 on respective reference planes are fitted to each face of a base 20 of a regular icosahedron. The three cameras supported by each support member 22 pick up a unidirectional image being a division of the three-dimensional space. Two stereo cameras are formed from the three cameras and position information in the three-dimensional space is obtained on the basis of two stereo images picked up by the three cameras.
