To provide a developer having excellent image characteristics, such as image density, resolution and gradation characteristic and an image forming method using this developer relating to the developer used for electrostatic recording devices, such as a copying machine and printer by an electrophotographic photoreceptor development system and image forming method.
This image forming method consists in using a developing device having a developing roller, a regulating member for regulating the layer thickness of the developer supplied onto the developing roller and a photoreceptor and developing the electrostatic latent image formed on the photoreceptor having a photosensitive layer containing oxytitanium phthalocyanine having the largest diffraction peak at a Bragg angle (2θ±0.2°) 27.3° in the X-ray diffraction spectra by CuKα rays by the developer which contains inorganic powder of ≥50 in degree of hydrophobing, is 1 to 40 in the absolute value of q when the electrostatic charge quantity of the developer is q (μC/g) and is regulated in the layer thickness d (mm) of the developer on the developing roller so as to attain 0.2≤q.d≤10 and the developer for the same.
