PURPOSE: To obtain the subject dispersion excellent in storage stability, water resistance, etc., useful for e.g. coating sheathing construction materials, comprising an epoxy-contg. copolymer emulsion, carboxyl-contg. copolymer emulsion and aminoalcohol.
CONSTITUTION: This dispersion comprises (A) an epoxy-contg. copolymer emulsion produced by emulsion copolymerization between an epoxy-contg. ethylenic unsaturated monomer, a (meth)acrylate compound inert to epoxy group and another ethylenic unsaturated monomer inert to epoxy group but radical- copolymerizable with the two components mentioned above, in the presence of an anionic emulsifier and (B) a carboxyl-contg. copolymer emulsion produced by emulsion copolymerization in a way similar to the case mentioned above between a carboxyl-contg. ethylenic unsaturated monomer, a (meth)acrylate compound and another ethylenic unsaturated monomer radical-copolymerizable with the two components mentioned above, at the weight ratio A/B of (0.1-10) and (C) 0-10 pts.wt., based on a total of 100 pts.wt. of the components A and B, of an amine-based curing catalyst.
