Abstract:
PURPOSE: To inhibit the current flow between a counter cell and an adjacent cell, and prevent the breakage of a battery, by installing a circular projection on an outer side face of an electrode, and coating the outer side face including the projection and excluding a central part, with the non-conductive substance. CONSTITUTION: A circular projection 18 is installed on an outer side face 12 of a negative electrode 10, and a central part 16 of the electrode 10 is formed lower than the projection 18. The outer side face 12 including the projection 18 and excluding the central part 16, is coated with the non-conductive substance. Further a projecting part 44 extended from the central part, and a positive electrode 42 are installed on a closed edge of a cover 24, and the outer side face of the electrode 42 is provided with the conductivity. In the case when three batteries are arranged in series, and the middle battery is inversely inserted, the positive electrodes 42 are kept into contact with each other, but the negative electrodes 10 are kept into contact with each other through the non-conductive sustance 60, so that the current does not flow between the batteries. Thereby the current does not flow between the batteries even when the counter cell is erroneously inserted, which prevents the breakage of the battery.
