Title:
ONE-SIDE PLATING METHOD USING MAGNETIC FIELD
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JPS54125136
Kind Code:
A
Abstract:

PURPOSE: To reliably hot dip one side of a metal sheet by running the sheet in a curved state to dip the sheet center of the lateral direction in a molten metal bath and forming magnetic fields at both edge parts of the sheet to raise the bath surface.

CONSTITUTION: Two drum-shaped guide rollers 3 are placed at the upper part of surface 2 of molten metal bath 1 so that the central parts alone are positioned under surface 2 and both edges above surface 2. Metal sheet 5 to be hot dipped is run in a curved state. Moving magnetic field forming units 6, 7 are set in bath 1 under introduction side roller 3 in an inclined state with the roller edge side upward. Thus, moving magnetic fields are formed outwardly to raise surface 2, which is contacted to the edges of sheet 5. Since bath 1 fluidizes and separates from the edges of sheet 5 by the action of the fields, bath 1 does not move to the other side not to be hot dipped.
