Abstract:

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enable a mothod to execute one side welding for a narrow groove V shape butt joint without generating a high temp. crack to a penetration bead.
SOLUTION: In a one side welding method by CO2 gas arc welding for one side-welding an object to be welded having a narrow groove, the narrow groove is that the groove of the object to be welded has a ≤55° groove angle and a ≤2 mm root gap (including 0 mm), in the case of welding one side initial layer to form a penetration bead by using a backing material, a filler in the groove having ≥0.3 mm particle size and ≤200 ppm oxygen quantity is sprayed in the groove by 2 mm higher than a groove root. By using a wire for the CO2 gas arc welding, e.g. a solid wire of 1.2-1.6 mm wire diameter or a metal base flux contained wire of ≤2 wt.% oxide contained as a flux component, the welding is conducted so as to be an oxygen content of ≤500 ppm in one side initial layer weld metal.
