To provide a one way clutch which is capable of adding a bearing function to a retainer.

A magnetic type one way clutch comprises such components as a rotating shaft 11, an outer ring 1 arranged around the outer periphery of the rotating shaft 11 with predetermined spacing, a plurality of rollers 2 for power transmission arranged in the wedge-shaped spaces formed between both of the circular rings, and a retainer 4 of cylinder type which retains the rollers and is made of highly abrasion resistant material. A magnet 3 which urges the roller 2 in the direction to force the same into the wedge-shaped space 12 is provided within the retainer 4 as a separate member. By giving the high abrasion resistance to the retainer 4, the retainer 4 can be provided with bearing function.
