To suppress abrasion on a garter spring.
A one-way clutch comprises: an inner ring having an outer cylinder face; an outer ring 1 disposed coaxially with the inner ring and having an inner peripheral cylinder face facing the outer peripheral cylinder face; a plurality of sprags 2 disposed in an annular space between the outer peripheral cylinder face and the inner peripheral cylinder face, and having a plurality of cam faces 11, 12 corresponding to each of the cylinder faces; and the garter spring abutted with each of the sprags 2, and urging each of the sprags 2 in a direction where each of the cam faces 11, 12 is engaged with the outer and inner peripheral cylinder faces. In a surface of the garter spring 3, at least contact portions with the sprags are coated by DLC coating. Thereby, degree of hardness of the surface of the garter spring is increased to improve abrasion resistance, and sliding abrasion between the garter spring and the sprags is decreased to reduce the abrasion on the garter spring.
