Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To height the maximum loading ability of a sprag or roller by nullifying the damage concentration on a material as expressed by the equivalent stress, maximum sharing stress, etc.
SOLUTION: Changes in the direction perpendicular to the rolling direction of a sprag 16 in the gap between sprag 16 and an inner ring 12 and in the gap between the spray 16 and outer ring 13 are decided so that the damage of the material expressed by the equivalent stress distribution in the mentioned direction, the maximum. shearing stress distribution, etc., becomes uniform. Thereby it is possible to preclude the damage concentration on the material as expessed by the equivalent stress or maximum. shearing stress, etc., in the edge parts of spray 16 at its ends about the mentioned direction. It is accordingly practicable to heighten the static maximum load capacity and dynamic maximum. load capacity of the sprag 16 corresponding to the elimination amount of the damage concentration.
