To provide an opal composite material which has excellent play of color in which a variegated color shade can be viewed stably without depending on the angle of an aspect, and has easy processability.
The opal composite material includes two or more aggregates consisting of two or more silica particles in a first resin, where the aggregates have a principal plane that becomes a Bragg diffraction surface.
