PURPOSE: To obtain an opaque nylon web good in opaqueness, abrasion resistance, whiteness and light resistance from sheath-core type nylon conjugate fibers wherein titanium dioxide is contained in the cores in a relatively large amount and wherein a benzoxazole fluorescent brighter and a small amount of titanium dioxide are contained in the sheaths.

CONSTITUTION: The opaque nylon web is obtained from sheath-core type nylon conjugate fibers wherein 6-20wt.% of titanium dioxide is contained in the cores and 0.005-0.2wt.% of a benzoxazole fluorescent brighter and ≤0.5wt.% of titanium dioxide are also contained in the sheaths, and wherein the cores and the sheaths are substantially concentrically disposed. The volume ratio of the core is preferably 60-90%.
