PURPOSE: To miniaturize the whole open end wrench and improve maneuverability by providing two systems of mechanisms for adjusting a tie rod and locking independently in a housing.
CONSTITUTION: When the relative positional relationship between an adjusting gear 441 and a pair of disk plates 442, 423 is varied in the rotational direction, the radial position of a roller 445 is varied along a cam surface forcibly in the adjusting gear 441. Then, a plurality of rollers 445 are moved to approach the center axis of the adjusting gear 441 and engage a rod body of a tie rod. Then, the respective roller are tightly pressed against the rod body to clamp the rod body firmly. Thus once the rollers engage the rod body, the engaging condition is maintained as it is and is not released so long as the adjusting gear and the disk plate are not forcibly moved in the opposite direction to vary the relative positional relationship.
