Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an open shield method that obtains required minimum auxiliary reactive force against resistance from an auxiliary propulsion jack even when peripheral surface friction obtained is insufficient, is capable of mechanically determining whether the auxiliary propulsion jack is necessary and automatically actuating it, thereby enabling construction work without exerting unnecessary loads on a reaction body.SOLUTION: An open shield machine 1 divided into a front part 1d, a middle part 1e, and a tail part 1c is used. When the open shield machine moves forward by causing the front part 1d, the middle part 1e, and the tail part 1c to obtain reaction force from other divided bodies through extention and contraction of propulsion and traction jacks 12, 13, an auxiliary propulsion jack 19 is provided between the middle part 1e and the tail part 1c, and propulsion force of the auxiliary propulsion jack 19 is added automatically when peripheral surface friction obtained is insufficient.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
