To provide an open-winding motor drive device capable of suppressing generation of zero-axis current.SOLUTION: In an embodiment, output terminals of primary side and secondary side inverters are connected to six output terminals included in a motor with an open-winding structure. A controller includes a zero-axis current suppression section to control, on the basis of duty ratio between lines of each of the primary side and secondary side inverters in PWM control, current flowing through the motor and rotational speed, and suppress zero-axis current flowing in the same direction in three phases. The zero-axis current suppression section inserts a third switching pattern to generate zero-axis voltage and voltage acting between motor phases, during a first switching pattern is continuously output, the first switching pattern not generating zero-axis voltage acting equally on the three phases of the motor while generating voltage applied on the motor, and during the first switching pattern and a second switching pattern are output alternately, the second switching pattern not generating zero-axis voltage while not generating voltage acting between phases of the motor.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
