PURPOSE: To perform a series of locking and unlocking in response to opening and closing operation of a moving roof and to eliminate the need to control a locking mechanism, by a method wherein a pin, disposed to a slide piece, is engaged with a guide hole formed in a link.

CONSTITUTION: A part of guide rails 19, extending along the lateral direction of a car body, are disposed, a block 20 is coupled to the forward end of the rail, and guide grooves 19a and 19b and a guide groove 27a for a slide piece 27 are consectuvely extended from the rail 19. A moving roof has its forward end slidly coupled to the sliding piece 27 through a link 21. A stopper probe 38, which determines a closed position of the moving roof through checking of the movement of a shoe 33, is located in the grooves 19a and 19b. During closing, the movement, in the lateral direction of a car body, of the moving roof is controlled through locking of a lock pin 25 with an engaging groove 20a, and the movement, in the longitudinal direction of a car, of the moving roof is controlled through engaging of the pin 25 with the end surface of a block 20 of a flange part 25a.
