PURPOSE: To make it possible to open and close a door from any side of right and left without requiring a movable control-handle by constituting an opening and closing device of a pair of right and left hinge pints, fixed plate, a pair of right and left latch plates a coupling member between the latch plates and others.

CONSTITUTION: When the right side of a door 1 is pulled, a hinge pin 2a comes off from an interlocking groove 7a of a fixed plate 4, turning a latch plate 5a in the restriction releasing direction. After that, the revolution of a latch plate 5b is prevented through a coupling member 6 consisting of lock pins 15a and 15b, lock grooves 14a and 14b and links 6a, 6b and 6c, and a restriction state of a hinge pin 2b is maintained. The pin 2b is made as the center of the revolution to open the door 1, and reversely the left side of the door 1 is pulled, then the pin 2a is made as the center of the revolution to open the door 1. The hinge pins 2a and 2b are provided to a body 3, the fixed plate 4 is mounted on the door 1, and the coupling member 6 may be constituted by one lever or a pair of links.
